Find Your Greatness!

I've successfully started a new workout regimen. It's adaptable to my everyday life and I'm already feeling more confident. I've found that as long as you workout, you'll see and feel progress. It can be 20 minutes a day, at least it's not 0. TRY! That's my only advice. I was always one to give up after one great workout... NEVER AGAIN. Once I pushed myself, I felt this urge to complete my goal.
LOOKS
Being a bigger person in today's society has led me to be self conscious about my looks. And even though I may think I look ridiculous while working out, it doesn't matter. Don't worry about embarrassing yourself, impressing people or fitting in. Once you've reached your goal weight, you can proudly say you did it for yourself!

Are you bored or are you hungry?

I was bored a lot of the times I ate excessively, not watching what I ate, just shoving it down my throat. Now I have to work to earn the body I want! Leave extra food on your plate after a meal, it will help your self control. It takes 20 minutes for your stomach to alert the brain that it's full. So eat slowly!

ONE POUND AT A TIME

It won't be an easy journey, but if you're willing to be happy and optimistic about your weight loss journey, it makes it so much easier! Talk yourself into working out - and if you start to have doubts about doing it; simply look in the mirror and take a good look at the body you're wishing will go away. Only YOU can change your body and live the life you dream of.

PLAN
Plan your meals! If you're like me and you're on a tight budget or living with other people who don't necessarily have to eat healthy in order to help get in shape, then find things in the kitchen to prepare for yourself. Like Oatmeal - 1 cup of oatmeal every morning will help prevent over eating in the afternoon. Buy raisins and almonds for snacks. Fruit is key! Eating clean will rid you of fat and acne. Remember your portions! Keep it small, yet fulfilling. When in doubt. Workout!

Autumn Splendor

I'm sitting at my desk writing this.
The breeze is blowing heavily
on my lazy body.
The scene outside is familiar and haunting.
Bringing back memories I thought were once dead.
Autumn leaves lay in puddles and cars fly down the wet road;
My favorite sound in the world...
For reasons unknown.
The season is at it's peak, snow is rushing in.
But if it can, just for awhile; not come until December.
I want to remember this chilly November.
I want to remember the small orange trees under
the lamp posts in the parking lot.
And how much I've craved this Autumn splendor.

Aspen's Broken Heart

The tress have changed over night
Green to gold - falling down to Earth
and drifting to the sea;
never to be heard from again.

The flag waving proud in the autumn
breeze isn't at half mast this week.
Let's celebrate life - and change!

But my optimism goes unheard.

My uncle's in the other room stressed about bills
and my Gran is just as unstable.

There's an Aspen tree across the parking lot
behind a blue house - standing taller than
the land lines.

It's a thin tree compared to the other's
The split down it's middle reminds me of
a broken heart -
Just barely touching it's other half.

If I were an artist I'd draw it.

For now,
I'll just watch it sway back and forth
and compare it to my own broken heart.
